Africa - Child Soldiers - Are child soldiers always forced to become child soldiers?
Child soldiers are children, some being forced some not being forced to become child soldiers. Most children are being forced to become soldiers. But on the other hand others children are not being forced because of a life style they grew up in. All of the forced and not forced child soldiers is happening right now. Where this issue is taking place is in Africa all over. The reason this is happening is because the government feels that children are easier to take into battle then adults because they don't ask for money and a tons of other things from the government, unlike adults would ask for from the government for going into war. The government feels like they have the power to trick the children into becoming child soldiers and not asking for anything like adults.
Child soldiers are forced to become child soldiers because Their easier to intimate and do as they are told. Also unlike adults children don't demand salaries.
According to unicef, when investigating conflict child soldiers, "They are easier to intimate and they do as they are told. They are also less likely than adults to run away and they do not demand salaries." This shows that child soldiers are forced because like in the article they said they are easier to intimate, and don't ask for much such as salaries like adults ask for.
In researching children being forced to become child soldiers, "More than a thousand men and children have been pressed into armed service in Wau Shilluk and 12,000 children were used as soldiers by armed forces and groups across South Sudan last year, according to monitoring reports" (Dearden). Men and children are being forced because they are being "pressed" into bring soldiers and being apart of armed services.
Investigating in Child soldiers being recruited, "11,000 children serving in both the rebel, and government armies" (Burridge). Children are being forced because the government in Africa are making them join the rebel and armies.

This child soldiers is forced to smoke and drink because of being around adults 21 and older gives him the thought of smoking and drinking like everyone else.

The children are being forced because adults use fear and abuse to brain wash kids.
